Who we are

Pera Palace is a Turkish grill restaurant at The Village Mall, 74 Jumeirah Road, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“Pera Palace”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit perapalace.ae (the “Site”), reserve a table, contact us or dine with us, how we use it and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to look after your visit:

• Reservation details: your name, telephone number, e-mail address, party size, date and time, seating preference, special occasions and any dietary requirements or allergies you share with us.
• Enquiries: the details you include when you contact us by form, e-mail, telephone or WhatsApp, including private dining and event requests.
• Newsletter: your e-mail address, if you choose to receive our news and invitations.
• Guest preferences: notes our team may keep about your preferences, such as a favourite table or dish, so that your next visit is as you like it.
• Technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the site that referred you, collected through cookies and similar tools when you use the Site.
• On the premises: the restaurant uses CCTV for the safety of guests and staff. Recordings are kept for a limited period and shared only when the law requires.

Reservations through SevenRooms

Table reservations are managed on our behalf by SevenRooms, a reservation and guest management platform. When you book online, by telephone or in person, your reservation details are stored in SevenRooms and used to confirm, remind and seat you. SevenRooms processes this information under our instructions; its own privacy notice also applies to its services.

If a booking requires a card guarantee or deposit, your card details are collected and secured by the payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.

How we use your information

• To take, confirm and manage your reservation, including confirmations and reminders by e-mail, SMS or WhatsApp.
• To prepare for your visit, for example by accommodating allergies, dietary requirements and special occasions.
• To respond to your enquiries and to arrange private dining and events.
• To send our newsletter and occasional invitations, where you have asked for them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each e-mail.
• To understand how the Site is used and to improve our menu, service and website.
• To keep the restaurant safe, to prevent fraud and repeated no-shows, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Our legal grounds

We process your information because it is necessary to provide the reservation or service you have requested, because you have given your consent (for example to our newsletter), because we have a legitimate interest in running and improving the restaurant, or because the law requires it. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• SevenRooms and the providers that send our confirmations, reminders and e-mails.
• Payment providers, where a guarantee, deposit or payment is involved.
• Analytics and website hosting providers that help us run the Site.
• Our professional advisers, and public authorities where the law requires it.

Each provider may use your information only to perform its service for us and must keep it secure.

International transfers

Some of our providers store information outside the United Arab Emirates. When they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place so that your information remains protected to a standard consistent with UAE data protection law.

Cookies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies: essential cookies that make the Site work, analytics cookies that tell us how it is used, and cookies set by embedded services such as our virtual tour and reservation widget. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the Site may then not work as intended.

How long we keep it

We keep reservation and guest records for as long as we have an ongoing relationship with you and for as long afterwards as UAE law requires us to retain them, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.

Security

We protect your information with appropriate technical and organisational measures, limit access to those who need it to look after you, and require our providers to do the same. No system is entirely secure, so please contact us immediately if you believe your information has been compromised.

Your rights

Under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and other applicable laws, you may ask us to:

• Provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Delete your information, or restrict how we use it.
• Stop sending you marketing, or withdraw a consent you have given.
• Provide your information in a portable format, where this applies.

To exercise any of these rights, e-mail info@perapalace.ae. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the UAE Data Office.

Children

Children are always welcome at Pera Palace, but the Site and our newsletter are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from anyone under 18.

Links to other services

The Site links to services we do not control, including Tripadvisor, Matterport and our social media pages. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to read.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised, and significant changes will be highlighted on the Site.
